ATAC assists in showcasing Aboriginal tourism guest experiences with consumers as well as with the travel trade. For example, ATAC leadership participates in face-to-face meetings with tour operators and to help these operators gain stronger awareness, sales tools such as an Aboriginal Tourism Experience Guide are shared with key industry contacts.
This type of sales tool, offered in hard-copy and online, provides visuals as well as key information about operators and their Aboriginal tourism offering. The Aboriginal Tourism Guide completed in April, 2016 shows 27 authentic Aboriginal tourism attractions from across Canada representing products such as outdoor adventures, cultural centres, art galleries and lodging.
These tourism operators also attended the Rendez-vous Canada 2016 trade show to represent their organization in meetings with tour operators, media and industry partners. This Aboriginal Tourism Experience Guide helped these individual operators demonstrate they are part of a larger family of Aboriginal tourism businesses and have a growing number of market-ready tourism experiences to offer to travelers.
