The Path Forward: Five-Year Plan (2016-21)

ATAC has developed a five-year strategic plan to overcome barriers and maximize opportunities for Canada’s Aboriginal tourism industry. As outlined within ATAC’s strategic five-year plan (2016-2021) our target goals for 2021 include: A $300 million increase in the annual Canadian GDP from Aboriginal tourism, a total of 40,233 Aboriginal tourism workers and 50 new Aboriginal tourism operators at export-ready status.

The strategic pillars of our five-year plan:

  • Development – product/experiences, training/ education, quality assurance;
  • Marketing – international targets, maximize ROI, alignment with Destination Canada;
  • Leadership – advocacy, representation, strategy, organizational sustainability;
  • Partnership – with members and supporters, collaborative, mutually beneficial.
